Study Plan for Fifth Grade

Vision: Consolidate the knowledge acquired in previous grades, deepening Islamic values and promoting the integral development of students, preparing them to face the academic and social challenges of adolescence.

Spanish

  • Express ideas with clarity, precision, coherence, and flexibility in different communicative situations.
  • Produce messages that express various intentions, using verbal and non-verbal communication systems integratively.
  • Comment on, interpret, and critically evaluate messages received through the media.
  • Develop the habit of reading as an expressive, informative, and playful resource.
  • Enjoy writing as a form of communication and a source of cultural enrichment and personal pleasure.
  • Understand and use, both orally and in writing, an increasingly broad and precise vocabulary according to communicative needs.
  • Reflect on the use and application of spelling rules and punctuation marks in verbal and written communication.
  • Reflect on the necessity of grammar, understood as the code of languages, to enable communication through its use.
  • Enjoy short literary works through reading and commentary, contributing to the expansion of linguistic competencies.
  • Write texts with a personal style, respecting grammatical aspects adapted to various grammatical situations.

Social Studies

  • Recognize the natural aspects that make up Panama's geographical space.

  • Understand technological advancements and their importance in the socioeconomic, cultural, and natural development of our country.
  • Recognize the historical and geographical value of Panama's position in the world, as well as the responsibility of the Panamanian State to efficiently manage the interoceanic route.
  • Identify public authorities and institutions of the country and international organizations, understanding their importance and the benefits they provide to Panama.
  • Comprehend the importance of human duties and rights in promoting justice and peaceful coexistence.
  • Respect the cultural legacy of Panama’s different ethnic groups.
  • Value the significance of national symbols and Panamanian sovereignty through knowledge of historical events that define our national identity.

English

  • Stimulate the understanding of the basic rules of pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm.

  • Foster cooperative learning among students and teachers.

Mathematics

  • Properly handle the base-10 numbering system to count, read, write, and determine the relative or positional value of digits, applying greater than, less than relationships (<, >) among natural numbers up to one hundred million.
  • Read and write ordinal numbers < 100º, Roman numerals < C, and fractions with denominators < 10, 100, and 1000.
  • Apply the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (+, -, x, ÷), inverse operations in numerical calculations, and their properties in problem-solving.
  • Convert units of length to multiples and submultiples and vice versa in both the International System of Units (S.I.) and the Imperial System.
  • Draw and classify angles according to their measures, polygons by their sides, determining the perimeter and area of some.
  • Recognize the elements of the circle and solid geometric figures.
  • Record and represent results of random experiments through statistical tables and graphs.

Natural Sciences

  • Value the functions of relation, nutrition, and reproduction performed by the systems and organs of living beings, as natural mechanisms that contribute to the perpetuation of species, enhancing the ecological richness of biodiversity.
  • Interpret the dynamics of interrelationships between the kingdoms of nature and the elements of the environment, recognizing the positive and negative influence of human intervention, while promoting their conservation.
  • Recognize the various forms of energy, their influence on matter, and their applications in contemporary life to prevent misuse.
  • Understand the structure of the Earth and the general characteristics of its natural satellite, highlighting its impact on Earth and fostering interest in harnessing it.
