Study Plan for Pre-Kindergarten

Vision: To foster the comprehensive development of children by nurturing their natural curiosity, social skills, and connection to Islamic values, all within a safe and stimulating environment.

Socio-Emotional Area

Objective: Demonstrates confidence and self-assurance while practicing personal attitudes and values for social coexistence, happily sharing family and environmental experiences.

Personal Identity

  1. Self-Acceptance:
    Self-esteem, relationships with others, affection, peaceful problem-solving.
  2. Respect for Differences:
    Ethnic, cultural, gender, age, religious, and special needs diversity.
  3. Ethical and Moral Values:
    Love, responsibility, solidarity, respect, tolerance.
  4. Social Norms and Habits:
    Courtesy, daily routines, etiquette.
  5. Significant Family Experiences and Events.
  6. The Family:
    Family tree, other families and cultural groups, home address, phone numbers, rights and duties, interpersonal relationships.
  7. The Educational Center:
    Name and location, description of the school’s physical spaces, teaching and administrative staff.
  8. The Community:
    Types of communities, my neighborhood/town, types of housing, important places, means of transportation and communication, products cultivated in the community.
  9. Safety Rules:
    Geographical orientation within the classroom, school, and community.
  10. Individual and Collective Safety:
    Accident prevention in school, at home, and in the community, first aid.
  11. National Symbols:
    The flag, the national anthem, the national coat of arms.

11.1 Distinctive National Features:
Currency, national flower (Holy Spirit flower), national bird (Harpy Eagle), national tree (Panama tree), Panama Canal, among others.

  1. National History:
    Historical figures, important dates, sites of historical significance, monuments, museums.

Cognitive-Linguistic Area

Objective: Develops basic language structures to share experiences, feelings, and ideas through various linguistic functions and relevant, meaningful words and texts. Appropriates language as a medium of communication, enjoying different literary expressions and enhancing visual and auditory perception in a playful environment.

Oral Communication:

  1. Everyday Context:
    Vocabulary, description, dialogue, storytelling, argumentation, exposition, expressing opinions, narrating, conversation, interviews, comments, word games, role-playing, dramatizations.
  2. Playful Context:
    Nursery rhymes, riddles, tongue twisters, chants, songs, stories, rhymes, poems, lullabies.

Written Communication:

  1. Social Functions:
    Communication purposes, informational purposes, pleasurable purposes.

Text Types:

Invitations, letters, receipts, recipes (culinary and medicinal), cartoons, institutional logos, product labels, advertisements, word cards.

Phonological Development:

Word differentiation, syllables, phonemes, association, syllable-phoneme combinations within words, rhymes.

Integrated Communication:

Children’s literature, comprehension and creation of stories, narratives, and other texts. Library skills: book classification, conservation, and organization.

Logical-Mathematical Area

Objective: Establish relationships among concepts (position, size, laterality, time, etc.), lines, geometric shapes, and other object properties and characteristics. Express similarities and differences in measurements and quantities through identification, description, series, and other skills, using materials and technology to develop critical thinking.

Spatial Relationships:

  1. Regarding their body, objects, and among objects:
    Above-below, on-under, behind-between-in front of, left-right, before-after.
  2. Interior Concepts:
    Inside-outside, open-closed, corner-edge (proximity), near-far.
  3. Time Concepts:
    Daily activities: before-after, today-yesterday-tomorrow, day-night.
    Time reading: hours, minutes, calendar, days, weeks, months.

Object Properties and Characteristics:

Colors, shapes, sizes, textures, thickness, materials, analogies (similarities and differences), among others.

Experiences and Relationships:

Grouping, differences, classification, association, equality, series-arrangement, one-to-one correspondence, symmetry.

Quantifiers:

All-some-none, many-few-none, more than-less than-equal to, greater than-less than, group collections.

Geometry:

Lines: straight, curved, broken, mixed, open, and closed.

Geometric Figures:

Circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval.
Geometric Shapes: Cylinder, cone, sphere, cube, rhombus, pyramid.

Numbers:

Sets, base ten, ordinal numbers, correspondence, numerical series, ordering and valuing natural numbers.

Measurements:

Comparing quantities, conservation of quantity, conservation of weight, conservation of volume.

Currency Units.

Computer Use:

Basic components, basic functionality, keyboard use, educational games.

Natural Science Area

Objective: Foster interest in natural elements, phenomena, and attitudes towards them by recognizing the seasons and climate changes in our country, states of water, and changes in matter. Appreciate and care for the flora, fauna, and human body.

Main Topics:

  1. Natural elements and proper use.
  2. Natural phenomena.
  3. Climate conditions and temperature.
  4. Water states.
  5. Nature changes and conservation.
  6. Physical properties of materials.
  7. Planet Earth and celestial bodies.
  8. Planet care.
  9. Flora and fauna.
  10. Domestic and wild animals.
  11. Nutrition and hygiene.
  12. Human body care and systems.

Physical Development Areas

Body Scheme:

Identify and care for the body posture and practice lateral dominance.

Gross Motor Coordination:

Encourage basic movement patterns through playful activities and sports.

Fine Motor Coordination:

Develop eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills for artistic and graphic techniques.

English Area

Develop oral and written communication through familiar topics and playful activities.
Topics include family, school, community, country, emotions, body parts, health, recreation, transportation, weather, literature, and technology.
